그동안 계속해서 워크래프트 3에서 핵과 치트를 사요할 경우 계정과 CD-Key 사용을 금지한다는 블리자드 공지가 있었으며, 이번에 새로운 패치를 진행하면서 이러한 계정과 CD-Key 사용 금지 조치가 이루어졌습니다.

이번 조치 내용은 다음과 같습니다.
1. 맵핵을 사용한 것으로 파악된 약 20,000명의 사용자 계정이 사용 금지 조치되었으며, 래더 순위에서도 삭제되었습니다.
2. 맵핵을 사용한 것으로 파악된 컴퓨터의 CD-Key는 2주 동안 래더 게임에 참여할 수 없도록 조치하였습니다.

블리자드와 저희 한빛소프트는 이러한 극단적인 조치를 취한 것에 대해 매우 유감스럽게 생각하지만, 정상적인 게임을 플레이하는 다수의 사용자들을 보호하기 위한 조치는 계속 될 것입니다.

이번 조치 이후에도 계속해서 맵핵 등을 사용하는 등의 행위를 모니터링할 것이며, 계정과 CD-Key 사용에 대한 제한 조치를 계속 진행할 것입니다.

다시 한번 말씀드리지만, 공정한 방법으로 게임을 즐기시기 바라며 핵과 치트 등을 사용하지 않으신다면 어떠한 불이익도 없을 것입니다.

Warcraft III Map Hack Users Banned - 9/06/2002
In keeping with our aggressive stance against hacks and cheats, we have closed 20,000 accounts that were found to be using Warcraft III map hacks, and removed their ladder records. In addition, the CD keys of those offenders have been banned from ladder play for two weeks. We will continue to monitor the Warcraft III realms for malicious players. Please note: repeat offenders can suffer permanent removal from Battle.net if they continue to use hacks.

We regret having to employ these extreme measures; however, certain unscrupulous players have impaired the game play of the Warcraft III community as a whole, and severe action continues to be warranted and required.
